Spotlight on Tony Zeind at Oldcastle Precast in Concord, NC
When Tony Zeind came on board with Oldcastle Precast in Concord, North Carolina, he decided to take an objective look at admixture suppliers. He gave both the incumbent and AXIM the same opportunity to earn Oldcastle-Concord's business. AXIM, he reports, was the decisive winner of their business. The Concord Plant was buying cement from ESSROC, AXIM's parent company and he learned of AXIM's capabilities from them.
That decision laid the foundation for the current relationship. It is one that continues to thrive, according to Zeind, for two main reasons. First, the cost effective mix designs and the resultant cost savings are substantial. The QC Manager for the plant performs optimum mix designs by fully utilizing AXIM's technology via the online tool, SCC Zone. He noted that the Concord Plant uses it "religiously" to work independently on mix designs. And second, it is the top-notch customer support that the Concord Facility receives that is the crowning jewel in the relationship. He attributes this to the outstanding service with a timely response and the knowledgeable AXIM representatives.

"They have done an outstanding job for the Oldcastle Precast-Concord Facility! Jim (Wamelink) provides outstanding support and is extremely knowledgeable of all of the latest advances with SCC. The Concord Team has very little need to call for assistance, but he's there to check in just in case. Jim is sincere, knowledgeable of SCC and their (AXIM's) products, and is an excellent communicator - that goes a long way." Tony Zeind, Southeast Regional Engineering Manager, Oldcastle Precast
